<p>PURPOSE: To minimize the power consumption and to effectively save the power without deteriorating the system performance by monitoring and detecting the access request signals to be given to every input/output control circuit through an input/output monitor circuit and then switching on and off a power supply for every input/output circuit. CONSTITUTION: An input/output monitor circuit 1 detects the access request signal b received from an input/output arbiter 4 and the access request signal c received from an external connection equipment 5 which are sent to an input/ output control circuit 3. Then the circuit 1 compares these signals b and c with the value that is previously set and outputs a power ON/OFF control signal d. A power control circuit 2 sends a power supply e to the circuit 3 based on the signal d. Then the circuit 3, the arbiter 4 and the circuit 1 are connected together via a system bus a. Then both signals b and c are detected by the circuit 1, and the signal d to be sent to the circuit 3 is outputted to the circuit 2 in consideration of the set value of the circuit 3. Thus the power supply e is controlled.</p> |
