PURPOSE: To enable a receptacle pan to be used for both a heating with a heater and a heating with a high frequency by a method wherein the receptacle pan is mainly made of cordierite and each of a specific weight and a specific heat of the main material is set to be not more than a specified value. CONSTITUTION: A receptacle pan 9 on which a heated article is placed is mainly made of cordierite having a low coefficient of thermal expansion, a specific weight of the receptacle pan 9 is 1.9 or more and a specific heat of the receptacle pan 9 is 0.7[×10<3> J/Kg.K] or less. In addition, a height of a wall 9a at an outer circumference part of the receptacle pan 9 is set to be a part of integer of an applied wave length and a rising angle 9b of the wall 9a is set to be 30 to 40 deg.. With such an arrangement as above, the receptacle pan can be used without any abnormal state at a temperature difference of 300 deg.C or more which is required for heating with a heater. Concurrently, it is possible to prevent abnormal heat generating operation under no load of high frequency heating and a low load operation and further it is also possible to use the receptacle pan 9 which is used during both heating with heater and high frequency heating.
