PURPOSE: To facilitate the operation to control an image pickup state by providing an image pickup section capable of remote control, a means designating an optional point or area on an image, a control information generating means and a control information notice means to the system. CONSTITUTION: Control information calculated by an image pickup direction control section 56, an image pickup area control section 59, and a focal position control section 64 is reported to image pickup sections 67, 69. An image picked up by an own image pickup section 67 is displayed on an own image display window 68a and sent to an image display section of an opposite party station via a communication channel and displayed. Furthermore, the image picked up by the opposite party image pickup section 69 is displayed to an image display section of an opposite party station and sent from the opposite party station to the own station via a communication channel and displayed on the opposite party image display window 68b. The image pickup state (image pickup direction, image pickup area, focal position) of the image pickup sections 67, 69 picking up the image is surely controlled by having only to point out an optional point or area of an image displayed on the windows 68a, 68b. |
