The end hook, consists of a solid metal hook (2) to which the cable (C) is fastened by an end loop (C1) held by a metal ring (1), the hook and cable end being coated with a layer of plastic (3b) with a high level of mechanical strength. The cable loop is attached to a curved end on the hook, which is made from a high-grade steel. The plastic covering for the hook and cable end is made from a reinforced resin which is over-moulded onto the hook and cable in the form of a solid block over the hook and cable end joint, made with recesses in its sides for the thumb and fore finger. The plastic block can also have a tongue (3c) projecting from it towards the end of the hook, and in one variant of the design the tongue and hook end can be shaped to interlock. |
