The coin deposit lock is mounted on the handle of the trolley. The lock accepts a tongue attached to a chain linked to the next trolley or to a wall or other fixture. The tongue is released by insertion of a coin which is retained till a tongue is re-inserted. The lock (1) is attached to the handle (2) by an adjustable strap (5) that is pulled tight round the handle and locked by a clamping screw (6). A sleeve is initially fitted tightly over the handle of the trolley. The sleeve has raised projections at intervals round its periphery. The strap is positioned over the sleeve, with holes in the strap engaging the projections to stop rotation of the strap.
