The check-out has a conveyor belt (16) on which the goods (P1, P2) are placed by the operator (0) after they have been checked. A mobile partition (22) across the belt separates the goods of two successive customers (C1, C2). It defines a first surface (SAM) which lengthens progressively and a second surface (SAV) which shortens progressively. The partition is moved by two endless belts (42), moving together. It has two doors (24) which pivot round axles (26), near the edges (28) of the conveyor belt. Their axles are joined to the endless belts and the doors open when they are returned to their initial position.
