LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To eliminate the influence by static electricity and to suppress the occurrence of a defect in a display region by the electric discharge between wirings by keeping first transparent electrode groups shorted by shorting electrodes before an IC for driving is packaged. CONSTITUTION: A first transparent substrate 10 is provided with plural pieces of scanning lines 12 (or signal lines) as the first transparent electrode groups in a transverse direction. A second transparent substrate 11 is provided with plural pieces of signal lines 13 (or scanning lines) as the second transparent electrode groups so as to intersect orthogonally therewith. The wirings 12 are extended from the scanning lines 12 formed on the first transparent substrate 10 up to the region 14 where the IC for driving is arranged near the left side of the second transparent substrate 11. All of the first transparent electrode groups 12 constituting pixels are connected by the shorting electrodes 17. Cutting region areas 15 are cut after the end of injection of liquid crystals and the driving IC is packed therein. Namely, all of the transparent electrode groups 12 are held connected by the shorting electrodes 17 before packaging of the driving IC, by which the electric discharge between the wirings 12 is prevented.
