PURPOSE: To obtain the electronic device with simple operation in which a function is added or corrected easily. CONSTITUTION: An electronic device is made up of a local unit 1 or 2 and a display device 3. The local unit 1 or 2 is provided with a key board 23 entering data, a communication section 22 sending data entered by the key board 23, and a display section 21. The display device 3 receives data sent from the communication section 22 of the local unit 1 or 2 and executes the processing based on the received data and displays the result onto the display section 32. A displayed image on the display section 32 is projected with magnification by an OHP or the like. An IC card 35 to support an extended function is inserted to the display device 3 in response to the extension of the function of the local unit 1 or 2. When the IC card 35 is inserted, the display device 3 is operated according to control information stored in the IC card 35 to support the extended function. |
