PURPOSE: To obtain a two-dimensional array-type optical element module in which a multichannel light-signal transmission line can be maintained with good efficiency by a method wherein an extremely precise positioning member is used and the positioning member is formed to be a specific form which can be used so as to be laminated. CONSTITUTION: Optical fibers 2 are housed inside, and fixed to, V-grooves 1a, and their edges are faced with the light-receiving part or the light-emitting part of a one-dimensional optical element array 4 which is mounted in a depression part. In addition, interconnection layers 5a, 5b which are used to electrically connect the one- dimensional optical element array 4, a semiconductor integrated circuit 6 and the like are loaded on the depression part in a support member 1. In addition, the V- grooves 1a are formed sufficiently deep in such a way that the optical fibers 2 can be housed completely inside. In addition, also the depression part 1b is formed in such a way that the top face of the mounted one-dimensional optical element array 4 does not become higher than the top face 1e of the support member 1. Consequently, when the optical fibers 2 and the one-dimensional optical element array 4 are mounted and laminated on the support member 1, a two-dimensional array-type optical element module is obtained. |
