PURPOSE: To improve the moisture resistance and production efficiency of the light emitting parts of a light emitting device of a type to be formed with the plural light emitting parts on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: This light emitting device is provided with the substrate 10 mounted with plural pieces of LED chips 12 as the light emitting parts on its front surface and a cover plate 14 mounted on the substrate 10 so as to cover these LED chips 12. The device is 2 provided with projecting lines 32 so as to enclose a region 34 including all of the LED chips 12. A potting resin 36 having translucency is poured into this region 34 and is cured. The contact area of the potting resin 36 and the substrate 10 increases in this constitution and the thickness of the potting resin 36 increases as well. The LED chips 12 are, therefore, effectively protected from moisture by the potting resin 36. |
