PURPOSE: To provide a linear motor which is simple-structured and provides large thrust for its simple structure and has a high read accuracy by an encoder. CONSTITUTION: A stator 6 has a linear bar-like member 60 which is made of such a material as to be machined and magnetized and whose cross section is rectangular. Faces of the bar-like member 60 which include long sides of a rectangular cross section are magnetized to form a field magnet 61. On the other hand, one face of the bar-like member 60 which includes one short side of the rectangular cross section is so magnetized as to read magnetic waveforms for driving a motor and the other face of the bar-like member 60 which includes the other short side of the rectangular cross section is fine-magnetized 63 to serve for an encoder. A movable member 7 has an armature coil 71 which is set on the bar-like member 60 and can move with guidance of the bar-like member 60. This is a structure of a linear motor LDM. |
