PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant receiver assembly which is small in manufacturing cost, simple in assembly and light in weight, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: An aluminum canister 12 integrated with one closed end portion is provided, an inlet pipe 20 and an outlet standpipe 22 are fitted to ports 16, 18 of the closed end portion 14, and brazed to their inside portions, an outer end portion of the pipe is formed at right angles to facilitate the external connection, and a desiccant and a filter are provided. A center pipe 28 is fitted onto the standpipe 22 and sealed thereto, and a cup 30 provided with a cover plate 34 and filled with a desiccant 32 is fitted onto the center pipe 28 from an open end part of the canister 12 as a subassembly. To seal the assembly, the aluminum cup 30 is brazed onto the open end part of the canister 12. In a modification, the cup 30 is integrated with the center pipe 28 by a plastic material. |
