Hydrostatic cold-forming of sheet metal

The method is characterised by the fact that while the growth curve of the internal pressure necessary for forming the component is realised, the clamping forces of the tool surrounding the sheet metal component are accordingly altered in given area regions by means of hydro-electrically controlled pressure cylinders. The appts. for implementation of the proposed method includes: (a) a flexurally stiff housing or frame (12) for accommodation of pressure cylinders (6,7,8,9) and a tool (1,2); (b) a press top (10) and a press bottom (11) rigidly connected to one another; (c) a tool (1,2) with a mechanism for opening and extraction of the component, as well as with cylinders for axial sealing, compression, cutting etc.; and (d) individual cylinders (6,7,8,9) for application of clamping forces.
