The contact device has contacts (3) acting on the operative side as terminal elements (9) for the incoming and outgoing lines, some of the contacts provided with auxiliary springs (4) on the opposite side, for acting as plug contacts (11) for a line protection plug. The springs are releasably connected to the contacts at their inner ends, each having a curved H-shaped contact zone with 4 spring tongues pressed against the contact via support surfaces of the housing of the contact device.
