Sheet-handling and data-processing apparatus includes a casing 12 having upper and lower cavities 14, 16 arranged in a vertically spaced relationship. A drawer 18 in one of the cavities has a hopper 20 for sheets, which are to be fed singly by means 24, 26, 28 to the other cavity which functions as a stacker. First and second data processing means 34 and 36, eg printers or readers, act on first and second sides of a sheet. Means 34 is arranged in the drawer. Means 36 may also be in the drawer; alternatively, it may be located in sheet guide block 32. In the latter case, the guide block may be interchangeable with a similar block containing no data processing means. Third and fourth printer/readers may be provided.
