<p>Methods of enhancing epithelial cell proliferation are disclosed.The methods comprise the step of contacting epithelial cells with a compound that binds to reovirus type 3 receptor. Methods of treating an individual susceptible to or suffering from a condition, disease or disorder characterized by insufficient proliferation of epithelial cells are disclosed. The methods comprise the steps of identifying such individuals and administering to them a therapeutically effect amount of compound that binds to reovirus type 3 receptor and thereby enhances proliferation of ephithelial cells. Methods of treating individuals suffering from wounds that involve epithelial cells are disclosed. The methods comprise the steps of identifying such individuals and administering to them a therapeutically effect amount of compound that binds to reovirus type 3 receptor and thereby enhances proliferation of ephithelial cells.</p> |
