Herbicidal composition comprising the most active optical isomer of metolachlor, defined by Formula (A), and a synergistically effective amount of at least one other herbicide selected from the substance classes of sulfonylureas and sulfonanilides as defined by Formula (I), triazines, triazinones and pyridazinones as defined by Formula (II), organophosphates, aryloxyalkanoic acids, aryloxyphenoxypropanoic acids, pyridine carboxylic acids, benzoic acids, diphenylethers and imidazolinones as defined by formula (III), dinitroanilines and benzonitriles as defined by Formula (IV), chloroacetanilides, benzothiadiazinones, thio- or biscarbamates and ureas as defined by Formula (V), cyclohexanedione-oximes as defined by Formula (VI) and bipyridyliums as defined by Formula (VII).
