The fixing station has a fixing roller and a cooperating pressure roller (1), supported by pivot levers (2) at either side and biased in the direction of the fixing roller via a coil spring (3). The spring bias is determined by the spring constant. The point of action of the spring is determined by its tension, which can be adjusted by a setting device (7). The setting device is provided by a plate with a slit (10) at a varying distance from a coupling point about which the setting device is rotated.
