<p>1284114 Elastic tapes TOYO BOSEKI KK 22 Aug 1969 [24 Aug 1968 18 Oct 1968 4 Dec 1968] 42104/69 Heading D1R A tape assembly is produced by melt-spinning synthetic elastomeric material, e.g. block polymers such as polyurethanes, polyesters - polyethers, polyamides - polyethers and polyester (aliphatic) - polyester (aromatic), into at least 10 parallel monofilaments in side-by-side contact in a single plane, allowing the filaments to adhere to each other to form the assembly and controlling the inherent tackiness of the filaments by drawing the assembly by at least twice its initial length. The process ensures easy subsequent splitting up of the tape into its constituent filaments. The degree of drawing necessary may be reduced by adding a release agent to the melt-spinning cooling bath. Subsequent to drawing the tape may be given a heat relaxation treatment.</p> |
