The insertion protector is for the fitting of pins or journals in apertures of defined size when fitting in the corresponding receiving apertures of the bodywork. It has a socket (1) of elastic shape-retaining material with a slit (2) running radially in it. It has an edge (6) for fixing in the aperture and an insertion funnel (8) widening on the other side. There is a protective collar (3) of soft flat material round the socket. This also has a slit, aligned with that in the socket. It has a gripping tab (3a) on the opposite side to its slit (4). The collar is held in a groove (5) running round the socket.
