PURPOSE:To prevent passengers' ears from the eardrum impediment in the expansion of an air bag by providing a closing means for closing an opening of a vacuum tank, an electromagnetic means for removing the closing means and a control circuit interlocked with an operating signal of the air bag to operate the electromagnetic means. CONSTITUTION:Since a vacuum tank 1 is connected to an intake manifold of an engine through a pipe line 2, the interior of the vacuum tank 1 is vacuumized while the engine is driven. An opening 1A of the vacuum tank 1 is provided in a compartment to be closed by a closing means 3, the vacuum condition is kept to give no trouble to the operation of the engine. The closing means 3 is removed by an electromagnetic means 4 operated by an operating signal of an air bag 23. Thus, in the operation of the air bag 23, a vacuum region is produced abruptly in the compartment. Hence, even if a door window of the compartment is closed tightly, the abrupt increase of air pressure in the compartment at the operation of the air bag 23 is damped so that the passengers' ear drums are subjected to no impediments. |
