<p>1286369 Making tubes J V SARIO 16 Jan 1970 [18 Jan 1969 7 Jan 1970] 2350/70 Heading B3A Tubes are made by feeding a succession of U-shaped profiles to a turning device which inverts alternate profiles, positioning successive pairs of inverted and non-inverted sections with their free longitudinal edges juxtaposed, and welding the juxtaposed edges together. Two profiles 18 and 30 are pulled by rolls 20 and 25 through a welder 7 after which the tube passes through a device 17 for finishing the welds. The tube then passes through a further set of feed rolls 13 before passing through a straightener 14. In a modification the feeding of the tube is effected by a conventional draw bench.</p> |
