Wave-guide system for a microwave oven. The present invention provides a wave-guide system for a microwave oven that includes a cavity containing a foodstuff to be cooked and that has a pair of microwave feed apertures configured in one wall of the said cavity; a magnetron with an antenna placed between the microwave feed apertures separate from the wall that has the feed apertures, for generating microwaves with a frequency of λg; and a wave-guide designed to cover the feed apertures, support the magnetron and guide the microwaves inside the cavity via the feed apertures, and that has a short-circuited surface that is separated from the antenna by a distance λg/4 and is parallel to the antenna. The microwaves generated in the magnetron uniformly heat a foodstuff situated inside the said cavity. <IMAGE>
