<p>The cutting guide, for a knee prosthesis using a femoral trial component, consists of a slide plate (20) and pin guide (30), the plate having a flat surface (22) opposite the trial component, and a rod (23) perpendicular to the flat surface, and at least one projection (21) fitting into holes in the femoral component. The pin guide has two or more guide channels (33) for pins (50) set perpendicular to the condyle's saggital plane, and has two panels with faces at right angles to one another. The first panel has a flat surface parallel to the saggital plane which makes contact with the sliding surface of the plate, and a central aperture (31) for the rod, the aperture being sufficiently large to allow the guide to move in all directions in the saggital plane. The second panel, perpendicular to the first, has a flat surface of sufficient dimensions to make contact with the joint surface of the trial femoral component.</p> |
