PURPOSE:To use an intermediate product whose surface is made insoluble as a deodorizing granule by mixing a fine powdery deodorant with a water-soluble alginate aqueous solution and subsequently dispersing the liquid mixture in an aqueous solution of a metal salt becoming a multivalent metal ion. CONSTITUTION:A fine powdery deodorant composed of an aggregate of tightly bonded particles consisting of zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and a water molecule is mixed with an aqueous solution of water-soluble alginate such as sodium alginate to prepare a liquid mixture which is, in turn, continuously or discontinuously dispersed in an aqueous solution of a metal salt capable of becoming a multivalent metal ion such as aluminum or barium. Whereupon, an intermediate product whose surface is made insoluble is obtained and this product is dried. By this method, the fine powdery deodorant becomes a deodorizing granule without lowering deodorizing capacity and this granule is used in the removal of malodorous gas such as ammonia or hydrogen sulfide. |
