<p>PURPOSE: To make the above device applicable to deodorization in a room, purification of the gas in a piping, purification of the atm. air, etc., by arranging a tubular pipe which consists of a UV transmissive material and in which the gas to be treated passes in a vessel. CONSTITUTION: For example, a UV irradiation device is installed in a piping, vent duct or tunnel, etc., by aligning the longitudinal direction of a quartz glass tube 5 to a ventilation direction and is capable of cleaning the air passing in the quartz glass tube 5 and on the outside surface of a quartz glass vessel 4 by generating UV rays in a discharge space 12. The UV irradiation device is installed in the room by setting the longitudinal direction of the quartz glass tube 5 at a vertical direction. The UV rays are generated in the discharge space 12 and the air in the room is passed in the quartz glass tube 5 or the opening between the outside surface of the quartz glass vessel 4 and the inside surface of the outside wall tube by utilizing the ascending air current in the room, by which the effect as a deodorizer in the room is obtained.</p> |
