<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of an abnormal sound due to tooth contact by a clearance between driving and driven gears in an electric steering device. CONSTITUTION: Torque of a motor 19 is transmitted to a ring gear (driven gear) 33 from a pinion gear (driving gear) 32 to move a rack pin 35, provided eccentrically to the gear 33, in a right and left direction following the rotation of the ring gear 33, thereby moving a rack shaft 12 in a shaft direction to steer a rear wheel. Here, a spring 45, for pressedly energizing the ring gear 33 to the pinion gear 32 side, is provided, and also a high frequency signal is superimposed to the drive signal of the motor 19. Consequently, the pinion gear 32 is vibrated by a high frequency to momentarily lower friction with the ring gear 33 in between to surely reduce a clearance between teeth surfaces by the spring.</p> |
