The coverage of the system is divided in a jigsaw of adjoining service areas (1, 2). Each area is sub-divided into five sub-areas (15, 16, 17, 18, 19). The four outer sub-areas each contain a single receiver (5, 6, 8, 9). The central sub-area (17) contains a receiver (7), a transmitter (3) and an analyser unit (4). The signals from the receivers are all fed to the analyser (4). The analyser in each area is coupled (10) to the analysers (11) in adjoining areas. In the analyser (4), the received signals are fed via fork circuits to comparators and re-generation circuits.
