PURPOSE: To provide excellent releasability by mixing a methacrylic resin, having a particular reduced viscosity, prepd. by polymerizing methyl methacrylate and an alkyl acrylate, with a fatty acid having a predetermined number of carbon atoms and an aliph. alcohol. CONSTITUTION: About 0.005 to 1wt.%, based on the following monomer mixture, polymn. initiator, such as cyclohexanone peroxide, and a chain transfer agent, such as n-butyl mercaptane, are added to a monomer mixture of 85 to 99.5wt.% with 0.5 to 15wt.% 1-8C alkyl acrylate, such as ethyl acrylate, and the mixture is polymerized in a solvent, such as cyclohexane, at a temp. of 100 deg.C or above to give a methacrylic resin having a reduced viscosity of 30 to 90ml/g in chloroform (25 deg.C). 0.01 to 0.2 pt.wt. 8-22C fatty acid, such as lauric acid, and 0.01 to 0.5 pt.wt. 8-22C aliph. alcohol, such as stearyl alcohol, are incorporated into 100 pts.wt. methacrylic resin, and the mixture is melt-kneaded by means of an extruder to give the objective methacrylic resin compsn. |
