PURPOSE: To realize smooth gradation reproducibility and sufficient transfer density even when thermal transfer recording is applied to a thermal transfer receiving recording medium using a base material poor in elasticity or surface smoothness. CONSTITUTION: A base material for a thermal transfer receiving recording medium is produced by forming a rubber layer on a base material 1 and an image forming layer 3 is formed on the rubber layer 2 to produce the thermal transfer receiving recording medium.
