PURPOSE: To provide a recording medium having a photothermal conversion layer having sufficient exposure heat resistance even in high luminous intensity exposure, enabling the coating with a general-pourpose solvent, generating no crack and excellent in ink peelability. CONSTITUTION: In a recording medium wherein a photothermal conversion layer and an ink layer are provided on a support, a main binder used in the photothermal conversion layer is characterized by that temp. bringing the wt. reduction ratio of the binder to 50% in a nitrogen gas stream under a condition of a temp. rising speed of 10 deg.C/min in the measurement of thermal decomposition by a TGA method is 360 deg.C or higher. The binder is pref. a water-soluble binder especially selected from polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetal, nylon, polyacrylamide and polyalkylene oxide. |
