PURPOSE: To obtain image receiving paper for thermal transfer recording excellent in dyeing properties at a time of the formation of an image and good in durability by constituting the resin component of a colorant image receiving layer of a polyester resin containing an aminoquinone structure represented by a specific formula as a constitutional unit. CONSTITUTION: In image receiving paper for thermal transfer recording having a colorant image receiving layer capable of receiving the colorant transferred from a thermal transfer recording ink sheet and the image receiving paper substrate holding the colorant image receiving layer, at least one of the resin components of the colorant image receiving layer is composed of a polyester resin containing at least one of aminoquinone structures represented by formulae I, II (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain, side chain or cyclic hydrocarbon group and Y is N or CH) as a constitutional unit. By this constitution, image receiving paper for thermal transfer recording excellent in dyeing properties at a time of the formation of an image and good in durability is obtained. |
