<p>Photocurable high mol. copying lacquer is produced by reacting a polymer contg OH gps. with an org. deriv. of a cinnamoyl gp-contg. org. isocyanate deriv. of formula: (in which X is COR1, CON(R1)2, COOR1, R3-substd. phenyl or CN; R1 is alkyl or aryl, opt. contg. an NCO gp. R2 is H, halogen, alkyl, aryl or alkoxy; R3 is one or more H, halogen, esp. Cl, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or NO2 or an NCO gp). The polymer contg. OH gps. is derived from 5:1 to 1:2 (molar) ethylene/vinyl ester copolymer by hydrolysing not 80, pref. is not 95% of the vinyl ester units to vinyl alcohol units. The lacquer is esp. useful for coating metal plates, rolls, foils etc. for making stencils for printing paper, textiles, metals, plastics etc. Its excellent adhesion and good acid resistance after exposure ensure clean and sharp contours.</p> |
