Gas is prepared by dissolving a gas mixture comprising 65% - 90% acetylene and 35% - 10% of a liquified propane gas comprising propylene, propane, butane and/or their mixture in acetone under pressure and is charged into a high pressure vessel packed with a porous material. The explosion limit of acetylene, 1.4 kg/cm2-abs., is lowered by the addition of the liquified propane gas. The liquefied propane gas also serves as burner gas owing to its own combusting characteristic. - Burner gas is used for safe and economical, welding, cutting and heat treating metal and glass.
