PRODUCTION OF VINYL ETHER

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain a vinyl ether useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals on an industrial scale in high efficiency without causing danger and environmental problem in reaction by dealcoholating a specific acetal in vapor phase. CONSTITUTION: This vinyl ether of formula II is produced by the dealcoholation reaction of an acetal of formula I (R1 , R2 and R4 are each H, a 1-10C alkyl or an aryl; R3 is a 1-10C alkyl) in vapor phase in the presence of magnesium oxide as a catalyst to remove the alcohol of formula, R3 OH from the acetal. The reaction is preferably carried out at 250-400 deg.C e.g. by using 1,1- diethoxyethane as the acetal.
