PURPOSE: To provide a high speed and stable marking method by using a mixture of oxygen and insert gas having suitable concentration range in executing marking to an object to be marked with laser beam so as to reduce digging at starting time, at stopping time and at moving direction changing corner part of laser beam for irradiating of emitting nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In the marking method, in which a laser beam oscillated from a laser oscillator 7 is transferred either of an optical fiber 8 or mirror and by emitting a laser beam from an emitting mouth and by irradiating an object W to be marked made of metal material of various steel plate etc., with laser beam, a molten mark is formed on the object W to be marked, while the irradiating position of laser on the object W to be marked is covered with the inert gas atmosphere having 20-90vol% oxygen concentration, the laser beam irradiation is executed to form the marking made of molten mark. |
