<p>PURPOSE: To shorten the curing time with carbon dioxide in the production of a wood-chip cement board and simultaneously to improve the flexural strength, etc. CONSTITUTION: Wood chips, cement, water, etc., are mixed, the mixture is formed into a mat and then thermally pressed into the board to produce a wood-chip cement board. In this case, a compd. having an isocyanate group is added to the mixture, hence the isocyanate group reacts with the water in the mixture to generate carbon dioxide, the lime and slaked lime in the cement react with the carbon dioxide to promote the curing of the mixture, and simultaneously the isocyanate group forms a covalent bond with a hydroxyl group of the cellulose component in the wood chip and is firmly integrated. Accordingly, the curing time is shortened with the carbon dioxide, the flexural strength, etc., are also improved, and a high-quality wood-chip cement is obtained.</p> |
