MANUFACTURE OF TINPLATE STOCK HAVING LOW GLOSSINESS

PURPOSE: To find control factors of the surface roughness of a rolling roll to more surely obtain a more excellent low-gloss surface without using dull- worked rolls at the time of high reduction temper rolling of a steel sheet under the presence of a rolling liquid for obtaining a tinplate stock. CONSTITUTION: In high reduction temper rolling of the steel sheet with a rolling mill train under the condition that the rolling liquid is used and draft is 5-10%, by taking the surface roughness of work rolls of at least one rolling mill in the rolling mill train as the number (PPI) of protrusions of >=800 per inch at the cut level of 10μm, the tinplate stock having low glossiness in which the percentage of a surface reflected lightλ2 to a surface incident lightλ1 is <=40% is obtained.
