<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate the shape control of a plate by determining the displacement of divided back-up rolls from load distribution of work rolls with which the prescribed shape of the plate is obtained, thickness distribution on the outlet side of a rolling mill, displacement of each roll and compatible condition and controlling the divided back-up rolls. CONSTITUTION: In an upper roll assembly, the upper work roll 1 is backed up with four divided back-up rolls 3a-3d and three divided back-up rolls 3a'-3c'. The divided back-up rolls 3a 3d, 3a'-3c' are provided with independent screw- down devices and load detectors. By determining displacement for becoming the load distribution of the divided back-up rolls by which a desired shape of the plate is obtained and adjusting the manipulated variable of each divided back-up roll based on this displacement, the target shape is obtained.</p> |
