PURPOSE: To stack up sorted paper sheets with a simplified structure by sticking out a stopper in the front side of the conveyed paper sheets on a table and switching over the table transfering speed to high speed. CONSTITUTION: When processing is started, both a first and a second conveyance tables 21, 22 are driven with a standard speed. Paper sheets 20a are supplied through a discharge roller 11 and stacked on the first conveyance table 21 in a terrace style. A paper sheet counter 26 then counts the specified number of paper sheets and a stopper 24 is driven and stuck out on the first conveyance table 21, while the conveyance speed of the first conveyance table 21 is shifted to a middle speed and the paper sheets are sorted by gaps formed between the sheets. When sorting on the first conveyance table 21 is finished, the stopper 24 draws back and the conveyance speed is returned to the standard speed. Thereafter, the sorted paper sheets are carried on the second conveyance table 22 and, as a stopper 25 sticks out, the conveyance speed is shifted to high speed. |
