PURPOSE: To obtain a new G-protein conjugation-type receptor protein having a specific amino acid sequence, originated from the smooth muscle of the gastropyloric part of rabbit, exhibiting cell-stimulation activity when combined with a ligand and useful for the clarification of the structure and nature of the ligand, the development of pharmaceuticals acting on the system, etc. CONSTITUTION: This new G-protein conjugation-type receptor protein contains an amino acid sequence essentially the same as the amino acid sequence of formula. It is originated from the smooth muscle of the gastropyloric part of rabbit, exhibits cell-stimulation activity when combined with a lignad for a G-protein conjugation-type receptor protein and is useful for the determination of the structure of the ligand to clarify its nature and the development of pharmaceuticals by the screening of compounds having inhibitory action on the bonding of the ligand and the G-protein conjugation-type receptor protein. The protein can be produced by separating an mRNA from the smooth muscle of the gastropyloric part of rabbit by conventional method, preparing a cDNA library by using the mRNA as a template, cloning the library by PCR method using a primer consisting of a part of the gene of the protein and expressing the obtained DNA in a host. |
