PURPOSE: To quickly deal with facing control, reduce muddy water controlling facilities and a stock quantity of muddy water for countermeasure of mud release so as to reduce land area for ground facilities, and save the area. CONSTITUTION: When muddy water is fed in the shield chamber 42 of a shield machine 34 so as to stabilize a facing 46 by muddy water pressure, a thickener tank 50, a filling material tank 52, and a viscosity meter 60 are arranged on the way of a mud feed pipe 44 in a tunnel 36 in rear of the shield machine 34. The thickener and the filling material are fed in the mud feed pipe 44 from the thickener tank 50 and the filling material tank 52, while detecting viscosity in the mud feed pipe 44 by the viscosity meter 60, based on facing data detecting the condition of the facing 46. Hereby, mud feed distance of adjusted mud water to the facing can be shortened, and quick correspondence against change of stability of the facing can be performed. Because muddy water is controlled in the tunnel 36 in the vicinity of the shield machine 34, muddy water controlling facilities on the ground or in a starting shaft become unnecessary, and the area of the ground facilities can be saved. |
