Described is a continuous process for the production of unidirectionally reinforced composite materials by impregnating a continuous reinforcement-fibre strand with a thermoplast in a bath containing a powder dispersion of the thermoplast. The width of the strand leaving the impregnation bath is measured and the measured vavlue used to control the concentration of the polymer in the bath.
