PURPOSE: To provide a thermal recorder in which the state that the deflection or unclearness of an image due to the convection of the air due to preheating is eliminated and the dynamic range of a laser beam is sufficiently assured to obtain high gradation and high accuracy image. CONSTITUTION: A heat roll 28 is brought into contact with the recording unit of a thermal recording material to be preheated to a temperature immediately before color developing, then the beam L output from a laser diode 12 is emitted to a recording unit, and a gradation image is recorded by the thermal energy. In this case, an isolating member 27 is disposed on the upper part of the recording unit to prevent the convection of the air due to preheating, thereby recording an accurate image. |
