Sepg. devices (28) are provided with which the band piece (4a) can be sepd. from the band roll (6). Further devices (23,22) are also provided which after the pressing of one end (4c) of the band (4) on the packet (2), and after sepn. of the band piece, move this band piece in the direction of the attached end by a predetermined distance relatively to the packet. These further devices comprise a roller located on a pivot lever, and is movable for displacing the band piece in the running direction (48) of the packet. They are located on a lever (19) on which a second pressure roller (21) is arranged. They can be brought to a pretensioned position.
