DEODORIZING/STERILIZING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To enable the adsorption and decomposition of odor and bacteria, and the removal of dust by bringing the contaminated air that is sucked through an inlet port into contact with deodorizing sheets for adsorbing odor substances and bacteria, and decomposing the adsorbed substances and bacteria by the decomposing action of photoreactive semiconductors so as to be restored. CONSTITUTION: The contaminated air sucked inside a deodorizing/sterilizing space 1 through an inlet port 3 stagnates the inside of the space 1 and is brought into contact with deodorizing sheets 2. After the odor substances and bacteria are adsorbed and purified, they are discharged by a blowing means 6 through discharge ports 4. A part of contaminated air passes through the deodorizing sheets 2 and is sucked inside the space 1. Meanwhile, the adsorptive removal and the filtering of dust are carried out. The adsorbed odor substances and bacteria are subjected to photodecomposition by the photoreactive semiconductors inside the deodorizing sheets 2 that are activated by the irradiation of ultraviolet light sources 5. The deodorizing sheet 2 is retained by mixing the photoreactive semiconductors such as titanium oxide with the adsorptive substances such as activated carbon.
