摘要 PURPOSE: To stably burn gas even when a non-azide gas generating agent is used by serially arranging an ignition member, a main combustion chamber to store a gas generating agent, an auxiliary combustion chamber to burn an unburnt matter of the gas generating agent by constraining it and a cooling room and providing a rupture plate on a gas hole. CONSTITUTION: When collision of a vehicle is detected and an ignition member 5 is fired, its generated heat enters a main combustion chamber, a gas generating agent 20 is ignited and burns and internal pressure suddenly rises in a gas generator to bulge an air bag for automobile. Thereafter, when the main combustion chamber 8 reaches specified internal pressure, a rupture plate 22 ruptures, and generated gas flows out to an auxiliary combustion chamber 11 through a first gas hole 17. At this time, a part of the fused gas generating agent 20 flows out from the gas hole 17 as unburnt, also with gas, but it is constrained by the auxiliary combustion chamber 11 and burns while it stays there. Gas generated in the auxiliary combustion chamber 11 flows out to the cooling room 14, cooled down to proper temperature by a coolant 21, supplied into the air bag from a gas discharge hole 19 and bulges the air bag.
