WIRELESS-WIRE LINE COMMUNICATION SELECTION MECHANISM BUILT-IN PORTABLE TEST AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE OF ENGINEER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the craftperson of a low skillfulness degree to operate a test system by selectively setting either wireless or wireline repeater station with a method for urging a user. SOLUTION: The communication/processing unit of the user is provided with an input/output device 10 containing a visual display. Information input by the user is converted into a prescribed control signal through the device 10 and it is transmitted to the test system. Information related to the operation of the test system is presented to the user. The communication/processing unit of the user has a function for communicating with a central telephone exchange 12 via a wireless or wire line communication path. Since a response is given to the request of the user for setting the communication path between the communication processing unit of the user and the test system, the user can conducts the test of a subscriber line and the communication/processing unit of the user is installed in either the wireless or wire line communication path with the central telephone exchange 12.
