The thin decorative wall or ground slab elements (1) are obtained by casting in a mould to reproduce natural materials such as stone or brick. The mould comprises a bottom, lateral edges and partitions which define joint spaces (2) between the elements. In their pre-dressed form the elements are sealed by an open mesh weft (3) which is introduced during casting in the lower thickness of the elements. The weft mesh has spaces allowing passage of the binder through it. The frame is flexible and made in a mesh material, e.g. natural fibre, fibre glass or composite material, with a mesh between 1 and 50 mm. The elements are dressed so as to define a projecting part (5) allowing the connection by interlocking of one slab in another to form a continuous dressing.
