The heat exchanger has an external casing (2) with heat exchanger bundles (3) formed by undulating plates inside the casing. The distribution circuit for a first fluid is exterior to the casing and has a duct (10) opening at one of its ends into the free space inside the casing. The duct is connected at its other end to one of junction pipes (6) opening into the first group of passages of the bundle and an injection duct for liquid into the duct. The duct can open into the casing opposite to the part of the wall of the casing into which gas is fed under pressure (8).
